स हि सृष्टॊ मघवता शक्तिहेतॊर महात्मना कर्णस्याप्रतिवीर्यस्य विनाशाय महात्मनः ।। १-१४३-३८ ।।

sanskrit

'Indeed, the illustrious Indra created the mighty warrior Ghatotkacha by lending a portion of himself, making him a worthy adversary for the formidable Karna, in anticipation of the deadly dart Indra had given to Karna, which was certain to kill its target.' ।। 1-143-38 ।।

english translation

sa hi sRSTò maghavatA zaktihetòra mahAtmanA karNasyAprativIryasya vinAzAya mahAtmanaH || 1-143-38 ||
