यदा तव अमन्यत नृपॊ जातकौतूहला इति उवाचैनान अथ तदा पाण्डवान अम्बिका सुतः ॥ १-१३१-६ ॥
'And when King Dhritarashtra perceived that the curiosity of the Pandavas had been aroused, the son of Ambika addressed them, saying.' ॥ 1-131-6 ॥
english translation
ममेमे पुरुषा नित्यं कथयन्ति पुनः पुनः रमणीयतरं लॊके नगरं वारणावतम ॥ १-१३१-७ ॥
'These men of mine often speak of Varanavata as the most delightful town in the world.' ॥ 1-131-7 ॥

ते तात यदि मन्यध्वम उत्सवं वारणावते सगणाः सानुयात्राश च विहरध्वं यथामराः ॥ १-१३१-८ ॥
'If so, dear children, should you wish to witness that festival, journey to Varanavata with your followers and friends, and revel there as the celestials do.' ॥ 1-131-8 ॥

बराह्मणेभ्यश च रत्नानि गायनेभ्यश च सर्वशः परयच्छध्वं यथाकामं देवा इव सुवर्चसः ॥ १-१३१-९ ॥
'And distribute pearls and gems to the Brahmanas and musicians gathered there, as would the radiant gods.' ॥ 1-131-9 ॥
english translation
कं चित कालं विहृत्यैवम अनुभूय परां मुदम इदं वै हास्तिनपुरं सुखिनः पुनर एष्यथ ॥ १-१३१-१० ॥
'Enjoy yourselves there for a while, delighting in pleasures as you wish, like the radiant celestials, and then joyfully return to Hastinapura.' ॥ 1-131-10 ॥
