sanskrit

'He pleased the gods through sacrifices involving diverse offerings, won the favor of the sages by following a life of celibacy, and satisfied his ancestors by begetting offspring.'।। 1-13-42 ।।

english translation

devAMza ca tarpayAma Asa yajJaira vividhadakSiNaiH RSIMza ca barahmacaryeNa saMtatyA ca pitAmahAna || 1-13-42 ||
