तस्मिन परवृत्ते सत्रे तु सर्पाणाम अन्तकाय वै मॊचयाम आस तं शापम आस्तीकः सुमहायशाः ॥ १-१३-४० ॥

'After that sacrifice had commenced for the destruction of the snakes, Astika delivered the Nagas, viz., his brothers and maternal uncles and other snakes (from a fiery death).'॥ 1-13-40 ॥

tasmina paravRtte satre tu sarpANAma antakAya vai mòcayAma Asa taM zApama AstIkaH sumahAyazAH ॥ 1-13-40 ॥
