[व] शूरॊ नाम यदुश्रेष्ठॊ वसुदेव पिताभवत तस्य कन्या पृथा नाम रूपेणासदृशी भुवि ॥ १-१०४-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, 'There was amongst the Yadavas a chief named Sura. He was the father of Vasudeva. And he had a daughter called Pritha, who was unrivaled for beauty on earth.' ॥ 1-104-1 ॥
