संस्कारैः संस्कृतास ते तु वरताध्ययन संयुताः शरमव्यायाम कुशलाः समपद्यन्त यौवनम ॥ १-१०२-१६ ॥

'And the children, having passed through the usual rites of their order, devoted themselves to vows and study.' ॥ 1-102-16 ॥

धनुर्वेदे ऽशवपृष्ठे च गदायुद्धे ऽसि चर्मणि तथैव गजशिक्षायां नीतिशास्त्रे च पारगाः ॥ १-१०२-१७ ॥

'And they grew up into fine young men skilled in the Vedas and all athletic sports.' ॥ 1-102-17 ॥

इतिहास पुराणेषु नाना शिक्षासु चाभिभॊ वेदवेदाङ्गतत्त्वज्ञाः सर्वत्र कृतनिश्रमाः ॥ १-१०२-१८ ॥

'Skilled in history, Puranas, and various disciplines, you became masters of the Vedas and their ancillary texts, putting effort into learning everywhere.' ॥ 1-102-18 ॥

पाण्डुर धनुषि विक्रान्तॊ नरेभ्यॊ ऽभयधिकॊ ऽभवत अत्य अन्यान बलवान आसीद धृतराष्ट्रॊ महीपतिः ॥ १-१०२-१९ ॥

'Pandu became exceptionally skilled with the bow, surpassing all valor men, while Dhritarashtra, the lord of the land, was stronger than all others.' ॥ 1-102-19 ॥
