संबभूव तया रात्रौ मातुः परियचिकीर्षया भयात काशिसुता तं तु नाशक्नॊद अभिवीक्षितुम ॥ १-१००-६ ॥

'The Rishi, from desire of accomplishing his mother's wishes, however knew her. But the latter, struck with fear, opened not her eyes even once to look at him.' ॥ 1-100-6 ॥

ततॊ निष्क्रान्तम आसाद्य मातापुत्रम अथाब्रवीत अप्य अस्यां गुणवान पुत्र राजपुत्रॊ भविष्यति ॥ १-१००-७ ॥

'Upon Vyasa's emergence, his mother met him and inquired, "Will the princess give birth to a virtuous son?"' ॥ 1-100-7 ॥

निशम्य तद वचॊ मातुर वयासः परमबुद्धिमान परॊवाचातीन्द्रिय जञानॊ विधिना संप्रचॊदितः ॥ १-१००-८ ॥

'Hearing her, he replied, 'The son of the princess she will bring forth shall be equal in might unto ten thousand elephants. .' ॥ 1-100-8 ॥

नागायुग समप्राणॊ विद्वान राजर्षिसत्तमः महाभागॊ महावीर्यॊ महाबुद्धिर भविष्यति ॥ १-१००-९ ॥

'He will be of snake-like longevity, learned, the foremost among royal sages, exceedingly fortunate, possessing great valor, and endowed with immense wisdom.' ॥ 1-100-9 ॥

nAgAyuga samaprANò vidvAna rAjarSisattamaH mahAbhAgò mahAvIryò mahAbuddhira bhaviSyati ॥ 1-100-9 ॥

'The high-souled one shall have in his time a century of sons. But from the fault of his mother he shall be blind.' ॥ 1-100-10 ॥
