चत्वार एकतॊ वेदा भारतं चैकम एकतः समागतैः सुरर्षिभिस तुलाम आरॊपितं पुरा महत्त्वे च गुरुत्वे च धरियमाणं ततॊ ऽधिकम ॥ १-१-२०८ ॥
'Four Vedas have converged into one, and similarly, the diverse narratives of the Mahabharata have merged into one. It was earlier weighed by the celestial sages using scales, symbolizing its immense significance and authority, and since then, it has been held even more profoundly in greatness and importance.'॥ 1-1-208 ॥
