असत सत सद असच चैव यस्माद देवात परवर्तते संततिश च परवृत्तिश च जन्ममृत्युः पुनर्भवः ॥ १-१-१९५ ॥

sanskrit

' From whom hath proceeded the non-existent and existent-non-existent universe with principles of generation and progression, and birth, death, and re-birth .'॥ 1-1-195 ॥

english translation

asata sata sada asaca caiva yasmAda devAta paravartate saMtatiza ca paravRttiza ca janmamRtyuH punarbhavaH ॥ 1-1-195 ॥
