वेदैश चतुर्भिः समितां वयासस्याद्भुत कर्मणः संहितां शरॊतुम इच्छामॊ धर्म्यां पापभयापहाम ।। १-१-१९।।

sanskrit

'We express our desire to immerse ourselves in the recounting of the remarkable deeds of Vyasa, a sage of extraordinary accomplishment. With the four Vedas as his sublime offerings, he orchestrated marvelous actions. We intend to embrace this righteous scripture, one that not only embodies virtue but also dispels the looming shadows of wrongdoing.' ।। 1-1-19 ।।

vedaiza caturbhiH samitAM vayAsasyAdbhuta karmaNaH saMhitAM zaròtuma icchAmò dharmyAM pApabhayApahAma || 1-1-19||
