लॊभमॊहाभिभूतास ते पुत्रास तं गौतमादयः काष्ठे समुद्रे परक्षिप्य गङ्गायां समवासृजन ॥ १-९८-१८ ॥
'Overwhelmed by greed and delusion, those sons, led by Gautama, cast him into the ocean using a wooden vessel and set him adrift on the Ganges.' ॥ 1-98-18 ॥
