'One day, O Brahmana, Ruru ventured into a vast forest, where he came across an ancient serpent of the Dundubha species, lying sprawled on the ground.'।। 1-9-20 ।।

sa kadA cida vanaM viprò rurura abhyAgamana mahata zayAnaM tatra cApazyaDa DuNDubhaM vayasAnvitama || 1-9-20 ||
