ततॊ महद्भिः करतुभिर ईजानॊ भरतस तदा लेभे पुत्रं भरद्वाजाद भुमन्युं नाम भारत ॥ १-८९-१८ ॥

'Their mothers, therefore, became angry and slew them all. The procreation of children by Bharata, therefore, became vain. The monarch then performed a great sacrifice and through the grace of Bharadwaja obtained a son named Bhumanyu. ' ॥ 1-89-18 ॥

tatò mahadbhiH karatubhira IjAnò bharatasa tadA lebhe putraM bharadvAjAda bhumanyuM nAma bhArata ॥ 1-89-18 ॥
