भरतस तिसृषु सत्रीषु नव पुत्रान अजीजनत नाभ्यनन्दन्त तान राजा नानुरूपा ममेत्य उत ॥ १-८९-१७ ॥

sanskrit

'And Bharata begat upon his three wives nine sons in all. But none of them were like their father and so Bharata was not at all pleased with them.' ॥ 1-89-17 ॥

english translation

bharatasa tisRSu satrISu nava putrAna ajIjanata nAbhyanandanta tAna rAjA nAnurUpA mametya uta ॥ 1-89-17 ॥
