मत पूर्वभार्यापहृता भृगुणानृत कारिणा सेयं यदि तथा मे तवं सत्यम आख्यातुम अर्हसि ॥ १-५-२४ ॥

sanskrit

'I had initially accepted this lady of superior complexion as my wife, but her father later bestowed her upon the deceitful Bhrigu.' ॥ 1-5-24 ॥

english translation

mata pUrvabhAryApahRtA bhRguNAnRta kAriNA seyaM yadi tathA me tavaM satyama AkhyAtuma arhasi ॥ 1-5-24 ॥
