मत पूर्वभार्यापहृता भृगुणानृत कारिणा सेयं यदि तथा मे तवं सत्यम आख्यातुम अर्हसि ।। १-५-२४ ।।

sanskrit

'I had initially accepted this lady of superior complexion as my wife, but her father later bestowed her upon the deceitful Bhrigu.' ।। 1-5-24 ।।

english translation

mata pUrvabhAryApahRtA bhRguNAnRta kAriNA seyaM yadi tathA me tavaM satyama AkhyAtuma arhasi || 1-5-24 ||
