छेत्स्यते ऽलपावशिष्टत्वाद एतद अप्य अचिराद इव ततः सथ पतितारॊ ऽतर गर्ते अस्मिन्न अधॊमुखाः ॥ १-४१-८ ॥

sanskrit

'It is evident that you will inevitably descend into this pit with your faces turned downward. Witnessing you in such a plight, overwhelmed by this great calamity, my compassion has been stirred.' ॥ 1-41-8 ॥

english translation

chetsyate 'lapAvaziSTatvAda etada apya acirAda iva tataH satha patitArò 'tara garte asminna adhòmukhAH ॥ 1-41-8 ॥
