तिग्मवीर्यविषा हय एते दन्द शूका महाबलाः तेषां तीक्ष्णविषत्वाद धि परजानां च हिताय वै परादाद विषहणीं विद्यां काश्यपाय महात्मने ।। १-१८-११ ।।

'As the snakes possessed venomous nature, formidable strength, and a relentless inclination to harm other creatures, their mother's disciplinary action towards them, as persecutors of all beings, was deemed appropriate for the benefit of all. Destiny consistently imposes the retribution of death upon those who seek harm to others. Having shared such sentiments, the gods approved of Kadru's decision and departed. Subsequently, Brahman summoned Kasyapa and reassured him, saying, 'O virtuous one, the snakes, born of you, are endowed with potent poison and massive bodies, always driven to harm other creatures due to their mother's curse. Son, do not be distressed, for the demise of the snakes in the sacrifice has been predestined.' The divine Creator of the Universe consoled Kasyapa and bestowed upon him the knowledge of neutralizing poison.' ।। 1-18-11 ।।

tigmavIryaviSA haya ete danda zUkA mahAbalAH teSAM tIkSNaviSatvAda dhi parajAnAM ca hitAya vai parAdAda viSahaNIM vidyAM kAzyapAya mahAtmane || 1-18-11 ||
