स हि वेदार्थ तत्त्वज्ञस तेषां गुरुर उदारधीः तेन धर्मविदा पार्था याज्याः सर्वविदा कृताः ॥ १-१७४-१० ॥
'And the high-souled Dhaumya, well-versed in the true meaning of the Vedas and every principle of morality, became the spiritual preceptor of the virtuous Pandavas, making them his Yajamanas (spiritual disciples).' ॥ 1-174-10 ॥
