ततस तेन सुराः सार्धं समुद्रम उपतस्थिरे तम ऊचुर अमृतार्थाय निर्मथिष्यामहे जलम ॥ १-१६-८ ॥

sanskrit

'The gods, accompanied by Ananta, reached the shore of the Ocean and addressed it, saying, "O Ocean, we have come to churn your waters to obtain nectar."' ॥ 1-16-8 ॥

english translation

tatasa tena surAH sArdhaM samudrama upatasthire tama Ucura amRtArthAya nirmathiSyAmahe jalama ॥ 1-16-8 ॥
