न सपुत्राञ जनयितुं दारान मूढश चिकीर्षति तेन लम्बामहे गर्ते संतानप्रक्षयाद इह ॥ १-१३-१६ ॥

'The fool do not think of raising offspring by marriage!It is for that reason, viz., the fear of extinction of our race, that we are suspended in this hole.'॥ 1-13-16 ॥

na saputrAJa janayituM dArAna mUDhaza cikIrSati tena lambAmahe garte saMtAnaprakSayAda iha ॥ 1-13-16 ॥
