[वै] धृतराष्ट्राभ्यनुज्ञातः सवबाहुविजितं धनम भीष्माय सत्यवत्यै च मात्रे चॊपजहार सः ॥ १-१०६-१ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, 'Pandu, then, at the command of Dhritarashtra, offered the wealth he had acquired by the prowess of his arms to Bhishma, their grand-mother Satyavati and their mothers.' ॥ 1-106-1 ॥

english translation

[vai] dhRtarASTrAbhyanujJAtaH savabAhuvijitaM dhanama bhISmAya satyavatyai ca mAtre còpajahAra saH ॥ 1-106-1 ॥

विदुराय च वै पाण्डुः परेषयाम आस तद धनम सुहृदश चापि धर्मात्मा धनेन समतर्पयत ॥ १-१०६-२ ॥

'And he sent a portion of his wealth to Vidura also. And the virtuous Pandu gratified his other relatives also with similar presents.' ॥ 1-106-2 ॥

english translation

vidurAya ca vai pANDuH pareSayAma Asa tada dhanama suhRdaza cApi dharmAtmA dhanena samatarpayata ॥ 1-106-2 ॥

ततः सत्यवतीं भीष्मः कौसल्यां च यशस्विनीम शुभैः पाण्डुजितै रत्नैस तॊषयाम आस भारत ॥ १-१०६-३ ॥

'Then Satyavati and Bhishma and the Kosala princes were all gratified with the presents Pandu made out of the acquisitions of his prowess.' ॥ 1-106-3 ॥

english translation

tataH satyavatIM bhISmaH kausalyAM ca yazasvinIma zubhaiH pANDujitai ratnaisa tòSayAma Asa bhArata ॥ 1-106-3 ॥

ननन्द माता कौसल्या तम अप्रतिमतेजसम जयन्तम इव पौलॊमी परिष्वज्य नरर्षभम ॥ १-१०६-४ ॥

'And Ambalika in particular, upon embracing her son of incomparable prowess, became as glad as the queen of heaven upon embracing Jayanta.' ॥ 1-106-4 ॥

nananda mAtA kausalyA tama apratimatejasama jayantama iva paulòmI pariSvajya nararSabhama ॥ 1-106-4 ॥

तस्य वीरस्य विक्रान्तैः सहस्रशतदक्षिणैः अश्वमेध शतैर ईजे धृतराष्ट्रॊ महामखैः ॥ १-१०६-५ ॥

'And with the wealth acquired by that hero Dhritarashtra performed five great sacrifices that were equal unto a hundred great horse-sacrifices, at all of which the offerings to Brahmanas were by hundreds and thousands.' ॥ 1-106-5 ॥

tasya vIrasya vikrAntaiH sahasrazatadakSiNaiH azvamedha zataira Ije dhRtarASTrò mahAmakhaiH ॥ 1-106-5 ॥
