पराशरात्मजॊ विद्वान बरह्मर्षिः संशितव्रतः मातुर नियॊगाद धर्मात्मा गाङ्गेयस्य च धीमतः ॥ १-१-५३॥

sanskrit

'The knowledgeable son of Parashara, a virtuous sage steadfast in vows, a self-disciplined seeker of truth, dutifully appointed by his mother, and possessing wisdom, the son of the Ganges.' ॥ 1-1-53 ॥

english translation

parAzarAtmajò vidvAna barahmarSiH saMzitavrataH mAtura niyògAda dharmAtmA gAGgeyasya ca dhImataH ॥ 1-1-53॥
