शंतनॊर धर्मनित्यस्य कौरव्यस्य यशस्विनः तवयि पिण्डश च कीर्तिश च संतानं च परतिष्ठितम ॥ १-९७-३ ॥

'The continuation of the lineage, the achievements, and the rites for the departed for the virtuous and renowned Santanu of the Kuru dynasty now all rest upon you.' ॥ 1-97-3 ॥

zaMtanòra dharmanityasya kauravyasya yazasvinaH tavayi piNDaza ca kIrtiza ca saMtAnaM ca paratiSThitama ॥ 1-97-3 ॥
