[व] ततः परतीपॊ राजा स सर्वभूतहिते रतः निषसाद समा बह्वीर गङ्गातीरगतॊ जपन ॥ १-९२-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana narrated, 'There was a king named Pratipa, renowned for his compassion towards all beings. He dedicated numerous years to ascetic practices at the source of the River Ganga.'' ॥ 1-92-1 ॥
