खड्गशक्ति धरैर वीरैर गदामुसलपाणिभिः परासतॊमर हस्तैश च ययौ यॊधशतैर वृतः ॥ १-६३-२ ॥

sanskrit

'And he took with him hundreds of horses and elephants. And the force that accompanied the monarch was of four kinds (foot soldiers, car-warriors, cavalry, and elephants)--heroes armed with swords and darts and bearing in their hands maces and stout clubs.' ॥ 1-63-2 ॥

english translation

khaDgazakti dharaira vIraira gadAmusalapANibhiH parAsatòmara hastaiza ca yayau yòdhazataira vRtaH ॥ 1-63-2 ॥
