स चाद्भुतमहावीर्यॊ वज्रसंहननॊ युवा उद्यम्य मन्दरं दॊर्भ्यां हरेत सवनकाननम ।। १-६२-११ ।।

sanskrit

'And the earth was full of all kinds of wealth and all kinds of animals. And the Brahmanas were always engaged in their duties and they were always truthful. And the youthful monarch was endued with wonderful prowess and a physical frame hard as the thunderbolt, so that he could, taking up the mountain Mandara with its forests and bushes, support it on his arms.' ।। 1-62-11 ।।

english translation

sa cAdbhutamahAvIryò vajrasaMhananò yuvA udyamya mandaraM dòrbhyAM hareta savanakAnanama || 1-62-11 ||

hk transliteration

धनुष्य अथ गदायुद्धे तसरुप्रहरणेषु च नागपृष्ठे ऽशवपृष्ठे च बभूव परिनिष्ठितः ।। १-६२-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'And he was well-skilled in four kinds of encounters with the mace (hurling it at foes at a distance, striking at those that are near, whirling it in the midst of many, and driving the foe before). And he was skilled also in the use of all kinds of weapons and in riding elephants and horses.' ।। 1-62-12 ।।

english translation

dhanuSya atha gadAyuddhe tasarupraharaNeSu ca nAgapRSThe 'zavapRSThe ca babhUva pariniSThitaH || 1-62-12 ||

hk transliteration

बले विष्णुसमश चासीत तेजसा भास्करॊपमः अक्षुब्धत्वे ऽरणव समः सहिष्णुत्वे धरा समः ।। १-६२-१३ ।।

sanskrit

'And in strength he was like unto Vishnu, in splendour like unto the maker of day, in gravity like unto the ocean, and in patience, like unto the earth.' ।। 1-62-13 ।।

english translation

bale viSNusamaza cAsIta tejasA bhAskaròpamaH akSubdhatve 'raNava samaH sahiSNutve dharA samaH || 1-62-13 ||

hk transliteration

संमतः स महीपालः परसन्नपुरराष्ट्रवान भूयॊ धर्मपरैर भावैर विदितं जनम आवसत ।। १-६२-१४ ।।

sanskrit

'That king was well-regarded, possessing a kingdom with contented cities and territories. He dwelt among his people, known for his adherence to dharma and righteous ways.' ।। 1-62-14 ।।

english translation

saMmataH sa mahIpAlaH parasannapurarASTravAna bhUyò dharmaparaira bhAvaira viditaM janama Avasata || 1-62-14 ||
