धृतराष्ट्री तु हंसांश च कलहंसांश च सर्वशः चक्रवाकांश च भद्रं ते परजज्ञे सा तु भामिनी ॥ १-६०-५६ ॥
'Dhritarashtri, the illustrious mother, bore an array of majestic offspring, including swans, diverse geese, and Chakravakas, O blessed one.' ॥ 1-60-56 ॥
english translation
शुकी विजज्ञे धर्मज्ञ शुकान एव मनस्विनी कल्याण गुणसंपन्ना सर्वलक्षणपूजिता ॥ १-६०-५७ ॥
'The wise and virtuous Shuki, possessing auspicious qualities and adorned with all virtues, was recognized as the embodiment of righteousness.' ॥ 1-60-57 ॥
english translation
नव करॊधवशा नारीः परजज्ञे ऽपय आत्मसंभवाः मृगीं च मृगमन्दां च हरिं भद्र मनाम अपि ॥ १-६०-५८ ॥
'And Krodha gave birth to nine daughters, all of wrathful disposition. And their names were Mrigi (doe), Mrigamanda, and the auspicious and pleasant Hari.' ॥ 1-60-58 ॥

मातङ्गीम अथ शार्दूलीं शवेतां सुरभिम एव च सर्वलक्षणसंपन्नां सुरसां च यशस्विनीम ॥ १-६०-५९ ॥
'She also gave birth to Bhadramana, Matangi, Sarduli (a tigress), Sweta (a white one), and the illustrious Surabhi, all endowed with all auspicious characteristics, and the glorious Surasa.' ॥ 1-60-59 ॥

अपत्यं तु मृगाः सर्वे मृग्या नरवरात्मज ऋक्षाश च मृगमन्दायाः सृमराश चमरा अपि ॥ १-६०-६० ॥
'And, O foremost of men, the offspring of Mrigi are all animals of the deer species. And the offspring of Mrigamanda are all animals of the bear species and those called Srimara (sweet-footed).' ॥ 1-60-60 ॥
