ते वयं साधु पाञ्चालान गच्छाम यदि मन्यसे अपूर्व दर्शनं तात रमणीयं भविष्यति ॥ १-१५६-६ ॥

'Let us go, my son, to the Panchalas. If you agree, we will have an unusual and delightful sight.' ॥ 1-156-6 ॥

te vayaM sAdhu pAJcAlAna gacchAma yadi manyase apUrva darzanaM tAta ramaNIyaM bhaviSyati ॥ 1-156-6 ॥

सुभिक्षाश चैव पाञ्चालाः शरूयन्ते शत्रुकर्शन यज्ञसेनश च राजासौ बरह्मण्य इति शुश्रुमः ॥ १-१५६-७ ॥

'We have heard that alms are readily available in the land of the Panchalas, and their king, Yajnasena, is known for his devotion to Brahmins.' ॥ 1-156-7 ॥

english translation

subhikSAza caiva pAJcAlAH zarUyante zatrukarzana yajJasenaza ca rAjAsau barahmaNya iti zuzrumaH ॥ 1-156-7 ॥

एकत्र चिरवासॊ हि कषमॊ न च मतॊ मम ते तत्र साधु गच्छामॊ यदि तवं पुत्र मन्यसे ॥ १-१५६-८ ॥

'I believe it's best not to linger in one place for too long. So, my son, if you agree, it would be wise for us to move there.' ॥ 1-156-8 ॥

ekatra ciravAsò hi kaSamò na ca matò mama te tatra sAdhu gacchAmò yadi tavaM putra manyase ॥ 1-156-8 ॥

[य] भवत्या यन मतं कार्यं तद अस्माकं परं हितम अनुजांस तु न जानामि गच्छेयुर नेति वा पुनः ॥ १-१५६-९ ॥

'Upon hearing this, Yudhishthira responded, "It is our duty to adhere to your directive, which undoubtedly aligns with our best interests. However, I am unsure of the willingness of my younger brothers to accompany us."' ॥ 1-156-9 ॥

[ya] bhavatyA yana mataM kAryaM tada asmAkaM paraM hitama anujAMsa tu na jAnAmi gaccheyura neti vA punaH ॥ 1-156-9 ॥

'Vaisampayana continued, "Kunti addressed Bhimasena and Arjuna, as well as the twins, discussing the journey to Panchala."' ॥ 1-156-10 ॥
