अभिषेचनिकं भाण्डं कृत्वा रामः प्रदक्षिणम् । शनैः जगाम सापेक्षो द्ऱ्ष्टिम् तत्र अविचालयन् ॥ २-१९-३१
Rama circumambulated the vessels meant for the consecration ceremony and steadily glancing at them with attention slowly moved away. [2-19-31]
english translation
न चास्य महतीं लक्ष्मीं राज्यनाशोऽपकर्षति । लोककान्तस्य कान्तत्वाच्छीतरश्मेरिव क्षपा ॥ २-१९-३२
Rama was the beloved of the people. Because of his loveliness, loss of kingdom did not diminish his splendour just like night cannot diminish the splendour of the coolrayed Moon. [2-19-32]
english translation
न वनम् गन्तु कामस्य त्यजतः च वसुंधराम् । सर्व लोक अतिगस्य इव लक्ष्यते चित्त विक्रिया ॥ २-१९-३३
Rama was determined to renounce the kingdom and go to the forest. So none could see any change in his mind. (For) he was one beyond all worldly affairs. [2-19-33]
english translation
प्रतिषिद्ध्य शुभम् छत्रं व्यजने च स्वलंकृते । विसर्जयित्वा स्वजनं रथम् पौरास्तथा जन्नान् ॥ २-१९-३४
Abandoned the auspicious umbrella, well decorated fans and chariot, sent away kinsmen, city-dwellers and others . - [2-19-34]
english translation
धारयन् मनसा दुह्खम् इन्द्रियाणि निगृह्य च । प्रविवेश आत्मवान् वेश्म मातुर प्रिय शंसिवान् ॥ २-१९-३५
- selfpossessed Rama held back his sorrow within his mind, entered his mother's residence to break the unpleasant news. [2-19-35]
