क्रुद्धमाज्ञाय रामं तु वसिष्ठः प्रत्युवाच ह । जाबालिरपि जानीते लोकस्यास्य गतागतिम् ॥ २-११०-१
Seeing Rama angry Vasistha intercedes, saying that Jabali is wellaware of the exits and entrances of humans on earth. ॥ 2-110-1॥
english translation
kruddhamAjJAya rAmaM tu vasiSThaH pratyuvAca ha । jAbAlirapi jAnIte lokasyAsya gatAgatim ॥ 2-110-1
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिवर्तयितुकामस्तु त्वामेतद्वाक्यमब्रवीत् । इमां लोकसमुत्पत्तिं लोकनाथ निबोध मे ॥ २-११०-२
Oh ! lord of the worlds, Jabali had spoken all this only with the intention to make you return (to Ayodhya). Listen I shall (now) relate to you the origin of the world. ॥ 2-110-2॥
english translation
nivartayitukAmastu tvAmetadvAkyamabravIt । imAM lokasamutpattiM lokanAtha nibodha me ॥ 2-110-2
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसर्वं सलिलमेवासीत्पृथिवी यत्र निर्मिता । तत: समभवद्ब्रह्मा स्वयम्भूर्दैवतै: सह ॥ २-११०-३
At the beginning, all this was water from which the earth was created. Thereafter, the self existent ( Swayambhu ) Brahma along with the gods came into existence. ॥ 2-110-3॥
english translation
sarvaM salilamevAsItpRthivI yatra nirmitA । tata: samabhavadbrahmA svayambhUrdaivatai: saha ॥ 2-110-3
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस वराहस्ततो भूत्वा प्रोज्जहार वसुन्धराम् । असृजच्च जगत्सर्वं सह पुत्रैः कृतात्मभिः ॥ २-११०-४
Then he assumed the form of a boar and uplifted the earth and created this world with his progeny of purified souls. ॥ 2-110-4॥
english translation
sa varAhastato bhUtvA projjahAra vasundharAm । asRjacca jagatsarvaM saha putraiH kRtAtmabhiH ॥ 2-110-4
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआकाशप्रभवो ब्रह्मा शाश्वतो नित्य अव्ययः । तस्मान्मरीचि: संजज्ञे मरीचेः कश्यप: सुतः ॥ २-११०-५
Eternal, changeless and imperishable Brahma arose from space and to him was born Marichi and to Marichi, Kasyapa. ॥ 2-110-5॥

AkAzaprabhavo brahmA zAzvato nitya avyayaH । tasmAnmarIci: saMjajJe marIceH kazyapa: sutaH ॥ 2-110-5
