तेन वित्रासिता नागाः करेणुपरिवारिताः । आवासयन्तो गन्धेन जग्मुरन्यद्वनं ततः ॥ २-१०२-४१

Frightened by the sound, the elephants followed by their females, spreading all the way the odour of the ichor, moved to other forests. ॥ 2-102-41॥

वराह वृकसङ्घाश्च महिषा: सृमरास्तथा । व्याघ्रगोकर्णगवया वित्रेसुः पृषतै स‌ह ॥ २-१०२-४२

Hearing that sound, hosts of boars and deer, buffaloes, serpents and apes, tigers, antelopes with ears like the cows', gavayas as well as dappled antelopes were all frightened. ॥ 2-102-42॥

varAha vRkasaGghAzca mahiSA: sRmarAstathA । vyAghragokarNagavayA vitresuH pRSatai sa‌ha ॥ 2-102-42

रथाङ्गसाह्वा नत्यूहा हंसाः कारण्डवाः परे । तथा पुंस्कोकिलाः क्रौञ्चा विसंज्ञा भेजिरे दिशः ॥ २-१०२-४३

Ducks, watercranes, geese, karandavas, cranes, male cuckoos and kraunchas fled senselessly in different directions. ॥ 2-102-43॥

तेन शब्देन वित्रस्तैराकाशं पक्षिभिर्वृतम् । मनुष्यैरावृता भूमिरुभयं प्रबभौ तदा ॥ २-१०२-४४

The sky was filled with birds frightened by the sound and the earth covered with people. Both looked extremely beautiful. ॥ 2-102-44॥

tena zabdena vitrastairAkAzaM pakSibhirvRtam । manuSyairAvRtA bhUmirubhayaM prababhau tadA ॥ 2-102-44

All at once the people saw the illustrious Rama, the best of men, and the subduer of enemies squatting on the bare earth. ॥ 2-102-45॥
