यदाचरति कल्याणि शुभं वा यदि वाऽशुभम् । तदेव लभते भद्रे कर्ता कर्मजमात्मनः ॥ २-६३-६
- 'Oh ! gentle auspicious lady a man has to reap the fruit of his action, good or evil. ॥ 2-63-6॥
english translation
yadAcarati kalyANi zubhaM vA yadi vA'zubham । tadeva labhate bhadre kartA karmajamAtmanaH ॥ 2-63-6
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगुरुलाघवमर्थानामारम्भे कर्मणां फलम् । दोषं वा यो न जानाति न बाल इति होच्यते ॥ २-६३-७
He who, at the commencement of any action, does not foresee the good or evil consequences of his action is considered a child ( fool ). ॥ 2-63-7॥
english translation
gurulAghavamarthAnAmArambhe karmaNAM phalam । doSaM vA yo na jAnAti na bAla iti hocyate ॥ 2-63-7
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकश्चिदाम्रवणं छित्त्वा पलाशांश्च निषिञ्चति । पुष्पं दृष्ट्वा फले गृध्नुः स शोचति फलागमे ॥ २-६३-८
Anyone, who after seeing their (charming and big) flowers, greedily desires their (large and luscious) fruits and nourishes Palasa trees, by cutting off a mongo grove, he will come to grief after bearing of their fruit. ॥ 2-63-8॥
english translation
kazcidAmravaNaM chittvA palAzAMzca niSiJcati । puSpaM dRSTvA phale gRdhnuH sa zocati phalAgame ॥ 2-63-8
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअविज्ञाय फलं यो हि कर्म त्वेवानुधावति । स शोचेत्फलवेलायां यथा किंशुकसेचकः ॥ २-६३-९
Without foreseeing the fruits of his action, he who runs after action only will regret at the time of fruition like the one who waters the palasa tree. ॥ 2-63-9॥
english translation
avijJAya phalaM yo hi karma tvevAnudhAvati । sa zocetphalavelAyAM yathA kiMzukasecakaH ॥ 2-63-9
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसोऽहमाम्रवणं छित्वा पलाशांश्च न्यषेचयम् । रामं फलागमे त्यक्त्वा पश्चाच्छोचामि दुर्मतिः ॥ २-६३-१०
So I have cut the mango trees and watered palasa trees. In utter foolishness, I have banished Rama at the time of fruition and regretting later. ॥ 2-63-10॥
english translation
so'hamAmravaNaM chitvA palAzAMzca nyaSecayam । rAmaM phalAgame tyaktvA pazcAcchocAmi durmatiH ॥ 2-63-10
