मोहमापेदिवान्भूयः शोकोपहतचेतनः । चिरेण तु नृपः सम्ज्ञाम् प्रतिलभ्य सुदुःखितः ॥ २-१२-६
- and with his senses overwhelmed by sorrow fell into a stupor again. Regaining his consciousness after a long time, the king was in deep grief . - ॥ 2-12-6॥

mohamApedivAnbhUyaH zokopahatacetanaH । cireNa tu nRpaH samjJAm pratilabhya suduHkhitaH ॥ 2-12-6
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकैकेयीमब्रवीत्क्रुद्धः प्रदहन्निव चक्षुषा । नृशंसे दुष्टचारित्रे कुलस्यास्य विनाशिनि ॥ २-१२-७
and with eyes as though burning in anger looked at Kaikeyi and said 'Oh ! cruel woman of wicked conduct, inclined to exterminate this race. ॥ 2-12-7॥
english translation
kaikeyImabravItkruddhaH pradahanniva cakSuSA । nRzaMse duSTacAritre kulasyAsya vinAzini ॥ 2-12-7
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकिम् कृतम् तव रामेण पापं पापे मयापि वा । यदा ते जननीतुल्याम् वृत्तिम् वहति राघवः ॥ २-१२-८
What harm has been done to you by Rama or by me? Then Rama was conducting himself in relation to you as his own mother - ॥ 2-12-8॥

kim kRtam tava rAmeNa pApaM pApe mayApi vA । yadA te jananItulyAm vRttim vahati rAghavaH ॥ 2-12-8
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्यैव त्वमनर्थाय किम् निमित्तमिहोद्यता । त्वं ममात्मविनाशार्थम् भवनम् स्वं प्रवेशिता ॥ २-१२-९
for what purpose are you seeking injustice to such a person? I brought home for my self destruction, you - ॥ 2-12-9॥

tasyaiva tvamanarthAya kim nimittamihodyatA । tvaM mamAtmavinAzArtham bhavanam svaM pravezitA ॥ 2-12-9
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअविज्ञानान्नृपसुता व्याळी तीक्ष्णविषा यथा । जीवलोको यदा सर्वो रामस्याह गुणस्तवम् ॥ २-१२-१०
- a king's daughter who was like a venomous female serpent in my ignorance. When all living beings of this world are extolling the virtues of Rama - ॥ 2-12-10॥

avijJAnAnnRpasutA vyALI tIkSNaviSA yathA । jIvaloko yadA sarvo rAmasyAha guNastavam ॥ 2-12-10
