न द्रक्ष्यामि यदि त्वां तु प्रवेक्ष्यामि हुताशनम् | तथेति च प्रतिज्ञाय तं परिष्वज्य सादरम् || २-११२-२६

शत्रुघ्नं च परिष्वज्य भरतं चेदमब्रवीत्। | मातरं रक्ष कैकेयीं मा रोषं कुरु तां प्रति || २-११२-२७

- and embracing Satrughna, said to Bharata : - 'Look after your mother Kaikeyi, do not be angry with her. [2-112-27]

zatrughnaM ca pariSvajya bharataM cedamabravIt| | mAtaraM rakSa kaikeyIM mA roSaM kuru tAM prati || 2-112-27

Oh ! chief of the Raghus, swear in my name and in the name of Sita.' So saying, eyes filled with tears, Rama took leave of his brother. [2-112-28]

The valiant and righteous Bharata, worshipped the welldecorated sandals and after circumambulating Rama reverentially placed them atop the best of elephants. [2-112-29]

अथाऽनुपूर्व्यात्प्रतिनन्द्य तं जनं गुरूंश्च मन्त्रिप्रकृतीस्तथाऽनुजौ | व्यसर्जयद्राघववंशवर्धनस्थिरः स्वधर्मे हिमवानिवाचलः || २-११२-३०

Inflexibly fixed in his own code of righteouness, like the Himavat mountain, Rama, the enhancer of the progeny of the Raghu dynasty, paid respect due to the preceptors, ministers and subjects in accordance with their rank, blessed his younger brothers, Bharata and Satrughna and sent them forth. [2-112-30]
