इत्येतैर्विविधैस्तैस्तैरन्यपार्थिवदुर्लभैः । शिष्टैरपरिमेयैश्च लोके लोकोत्तरैर्गुणैः ॥ २-१-४१
Rama had many other virtues beyond hitherto stated virtues not to be seen in other kings. His virtues cannot be counted and they are the best in the world. ॥ 2-1-41॥
english translation
ityetairvividhaistaistairanyapArthivadurlabhaiH । ziSTairaparimeyaizca loke lokottarairguNaiH ॥ 2-1-41
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतं समीक्ष्य महाराजो युक्तं समुदितैः शुभैः । निश्चित्य सचिवैः सार्धं युवराजममन्यत ॥ २-१-४२
Observing the virtuous Rama, king Dasharatha in consultation with his ministers made up his mind to make him Yuvaraaj ( princeregent ). ॥ 2-1-42॥
english translation
taM samIkSya mahArAjo yuktaM samuditaiH zubhaiH । nizcitya sacivaiH sArdhaM yuvarAjamamanyata ॥ 2-1-42
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदिव्यन्तरिक्षे भूमौ च घोरमुत्पातजं भयम् । संचचक्षेऽथ मेधावी शरीरे चात्मनो जराम् ॥ २-१-४३
The sagacious king, too perceived his body ageing and the portentous omens in the heaven, in the sky and on the earth causing dreadful concern. ॥ 2-1-43॥
english translation
divyantarikSe bhUmau ca ghoramutpAtajaM bhayam । saMcacakSe'tha medhAvI zarIre cAtmano jarAm ॥ 2-1-43
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपूर्णचन्द्राननस्याथ शोकापनुदमात्मनः । लोके रामस्य बुबुधे सम्प्रियत्वं महात्मनः ॥ २-१-४४
The noble Rama whose countenance resembled the full moon, was a favourite of the people. The king realised afterwards that his ( Rama ) being favourite of the people, was dispeller of grief. ॥ 2-1-44॥
english translation
pUrNacandrAnanasyAtha zokApanudamAtmanaH । loke rAmasya bubudhe sampriyatvaM mahAtmanaH ॥ 2-1-44
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआत्मनश्च प्रजानां च श्रेयसे च प्रियेण च । प्राप्तकालेन धर्मात्मा भक्त्या त्वरितवान् नृपः ॥ २-१-४५
For his own and his subjects' welfare, the righteous king ( Dasharatha ) realized that the time was ripen for the acceleration of the process ( of coronation of Rama ). ॥ 2-1-45॥

Atmanazca prajAnAM ca zreyase ca priyeNa ca । prAptakAlena dharmAtmA bhaktyA tvaritavAn nRpaH ॥ 2-1-45
