पुष्पसञ्चयचित्रेषु चन्दनागरुगन्धिषु । पाण्डुराभ्रप्रकाशेषु शुकसङ्घरूतेषुच ॥ २-८८-६

प्रासादवरवर्येषु शीतवत्सु सुगन्धिषु । उषित्वामेरुकल्पेषु कृतकाञ्चन भित्तिषु ॥ २-८८-७
They were cool and fragrant with perfumes. Having dwelt in the marvellous palaces made of golden-plated walls, that are comparable to mount Meru. [2-88-7]
english translation
गीतवादित्रनिर्घोषैर्वराभरणनिस्स्वनैः । मृदङ्गवरशब्दैश्च सततं प्रतिबोधितः ॥ २-८८-८
He used to wake up to the sounds of songs and musical instruments, the tinkling of finest ornaments and the splendid sounds of the drums. [2-88-8]
english translation
वन्दिभिर्वन्दितः काले बहुभिः सूतमागधैः । गाथाभिरनुरूपाभिः स्तुतिभिश्च परन्तपः ॥ २-८८-९
Many bards, genealogists and panegyrists singing befitting ballads and extolling Rama, scorcher of enemies, virtues at appropriate time used to salute him in reverence (Bharata lamented). [2-88-9]
english translation
अश्रद्धेयमिदं लोके न सत्यं प्रतिभाति मा। मुह्यते खलु मे भावः स्वप्नोऽयमिति मे मतिः ॥ २-८८-१०
It is unbelievable that such a thing has happened to Rama in this world. It does not seem real to me and looks appears like a dream and my mind is bewildered. [2-88-10]
