अभिद्रुतमिवारण्ये सिंहेन गजयूथपम् । प्रच्छाद्यमानं रामेण भरतं त्रातुमर्हसि ॥ २-८-३६

Like the leader of an elephant-herd attacked by a lion in the forest, Bharata is going to be oppressed by Rama. You should save him. ॥ 2-8-36॥

english translation

abhidrutamivAraNye siMhena gajayUthapam । pracchAdyamAnaM rAmeNa bharataM trAtumarhasi ॥ 2-8-36

दर्पान्निराकृता पूर्वं त्वया सौभाग्यवत्तया । राममाता सपत्नी ते कथं वैरं न शातयेत् ॥ २-८-३७

Being fortunate (being the favourite wife of your husband) you slighted your co-wife earlier with pride. How will she, Rama's mother (Kaushalya) remain without retaliating? ॥ 2-8-37॥

darpAnnirAkRtA pUrvaM tvayA saubhAgyavattayA । rAmamAtA sapatnI te kathaM vairaM na zAtayet ॥ 2-8-37

यदा हि रामः पृथिवीमवाप्स्यति । प्रभूतरत्नाकरशैलपत्तनाम् । तदा गमिष्यस्यशुभं पराभवं । सहैव दीना भरतेन भामिनि ॥ २-८-३८

Oh ! lovely lady ( queen Kaikeyi ), when Rama becomes the lord of this earth with its oceans, mountains and cities, then along with Bharata you will become miserable and fall into disgrace. ॥ 2-8-38॥

yadA hi rAmaH pRthivImavApsyati । prabhUtaratnAkarazailapattanAm । tadA gamiSyasyazubhaM parAbhavaM । sahaiva dInA bharatena bhAmini ॥ 2-8-38

यदा हि रामः पृथिवीमवाप्स्यति । ध्रुवं प्रणष्टो भरतो भविष्यति । अतो हि संचिन्तय राज्यमात्मजे । पर्स्य चैवाद्य विवासकारणम् ॥ २-८-३९

When Rama obtains this earth ( kingdom ), Bharata will be certainly ruined. Therefore, right now think of the kingdom for your son and the means of banishment for your enemy, Rama. ॥ 2-8-39॥

yadA hi rAmaH pRthivImavApsyati । dhruvaM praNaSTo bharato bhaviSyati । ato hi saMcintaya rAjyamAtmaje । parsya caivAdya vivAsakAraNam ॥ 2-8-39
