दुःखस्यानुचितो दुःखं सुमन्त्र शयनोचितः । भूमिपालात्मजो भूमौ शेते कथमनाथवत् ॥ २-५८-६

How can the son of the guardian of the earth who is accustomed to a comfortable bed and not to undeserved suffering lie down on the ground like an orphan, Oh ! Sumantra. [2-58-6]

english translation

यं यान्तमनुयान्ति स्म पदातिरथकुञ्जराः । स वत्स्यति कथं रामो विजनं वन माश्रितः ॥ २-५८-७

Wherever Rama went, elephants, chariots and footsoldiers followed him. How can he (now) live in the desolate forest where he has taken refuge? [2-58-7]

english translation

व्यालैर्मृगैराचरितं कृष्णसर्पनिषेवितम् । कथं कुमारौ वैदेह्या सार्धं वनमुपस्थितौ ॥ २-५८-८

How can the two young men along with Vaidehi live in the forest infested with black cobras and wicked, wild animals? [2-58-8]

english translation

सुकुमार्या तपस्विन्या सुमन्त्र सह सीतया । राजपुत्रौ कथं पादैरवरुह्य रथाद्गतौ ॥ २-५८-९

Oh ! Sumantra how did those two princes along with pitiable, delicate Sita, alight from the chariot, and enter the forest on foot? [2-58-9]

english translation

सिद्धार्थः खलु सूत त्वं येन दृष्टौ ममाऽत्मजौ । वनान्तं प्रविशन्तौ तावश्विनाविवमन्दरम् ॥ २-५८-१०

You are blessed indeed, Oh ! charioteer to have seen my sons entering the outskirts of the forest like Aswinis stepping into the region of the Mandara mountain. [2-58-60]
