एकान्ते पश्य भगवन्नाश्रमस्थानमुत्तमम् । रमेत यत्र वैदेही सुखार्हा जनकात्मजा ॥ २-५४-२६
Oh ! revered one, Janaka's daughter (Sita) deserves comfort. Suggest a solitary and agreeable place for our hermitage where she can enjoy herself.' [2-54-26]
english translation
एतछ्रुत्वा शुभं वाक्यं भरद्वाजो महामुनिः । राघवस्य ततो वाक्यमर्थग्राहकमब्रवीत् ॥ २-५४-२७
On hearing the auspicious words of Rama conveying his intention, the great sage Bharadwaja replied to him thus [2-54-27]
english translation
दशक्रोश इतस्तात गिरिर्यत्रनिवत्स्यसि । महर्षिसेवितः पुण्यः सर्वतः सुखदर्शनः ॥ २-५४-२८
- 'Oh ! my son ten krosas (about twenty miles) from here is a mountain frequented by maharshis is sacred. It looks pleasant from all sides and it is an appropriate place for you to live in. [2-54-28]
english translation
गोलाङ्गूलानुचरितो वानरर्क्षनिषेवितः । चित्रकूट इति ख्यातो गन्धमादनसन्निभः ॥ २-५४-२९
It is wellknown as Chitrakuta, resembling 'Gandhamadana'. It is full of wandering apes and inhabited by monkeys and bears. [2-54-29]
english translation
यावता चित्रकूटस्य नरशृङ्गान्यवेक्षते । कल्याणानि समाधत्ते न पापे कुरुते मनः ॥ २-५४-३०
As long as one beholds the peaks of mount Chitrakuta, he will be inspired to do good deeds and will not employ his mind in sinful thoughts. [2-54-30]
