अर्चिताश्चैव हृष्टाश्च भवता सर्वथा वयम् । पद्भ्यामभिगमाच्चैव स्नेहसन्दर्शनेन च ॥ २-५०-४१
- 'By coming on foot to meet us and by displaying your friendliness, you have amply honoured us and pleased us.' ॥ 2-50-41॥

arcitAzcaiva hRSTAzca bhavatA sarvathA vayam । padbhyAmabhigamAccaiva snehasandarzanena ca ॥ 2-50-41
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभुजाभ्यां साधु पीनाभ्यां पीडयन्वाक्यमब्रवीत् । दिष्ट्या त्वां गुह पश्यामि ह्यरोगं सह बान्धवैः । अपि ते कुशलं राष्ट्रे मित्रेषु च धनेषु च ॥ २-५०-४२
Rama embracing him tightly with his strong arms said, 'Oh ! Guha it is fortunate that I am able to see you and your relations in good health. Hope, all is well with your friends, kingdom and (collection of) revenue. ॥ 2-50-42॥

bhujAbhyAM sAdhu pInAbhyAM pIDayanvAkyamabravIt । diSTyA tvAM guha pazyAmi hyarogaM saha bAndhavaiH । api te kuzalaM rASTre mitreSu ca dhaneSu ca ॥ 2-50-42
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत्त्विदं भवता किञ्चित्प्रीत्या समुपकल्पितम् । सर्वं तदनुजानामि न हि वर्ते प्रतिग्रहे ॥ २-५०-४३
I must give you back whatever you have offered me so affectionately. I am not in a position to accept anything. ॥ 2-50-43॥

yattvidaM bhavatA kiJcitprItyA samupakalpitam । sarvaM tadanujAnAmi na hi varte pratigrahe ॥ 2-50-43
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकुशचीराजिनधरं फलमूलाशिनं च माम् । विद्धि प्रणिहितं धर्मे तापसं वनगोचरम् ॥ २-५०-४४
You must know me as an ascetic devoted to righteousness, and as a wanderer in the forest wearing garments made of bark, kusa grass and antelope skin, subsisting on fruits and roots. ॥ 2-40-44॥

kuzacIrAjinadharaM phalamUlAzinaM ca mAm । viddhi praNihitaM dharme tApasaM vanagocaram ॥ 2-50-44
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअश्वानां खादनेनाहमर्थी नान्येन केनचित् । एतावताऽत्र भवता भविष्यामि सुपूजितः ॥ २-५०-४५
What I now need is fodder for the horses. Nothing more. If you can do this much, I'll deem it a great honour. ॥ 2-50-45॥

azvAnAM khAdanenAhamarthI nAnyena kenacit । etAvatA'tra bhavatA bhaviSyAmi supUjitaH ॥ 2-50-45
