तस्मात्त्वमपि चात्मानं नियम्यैवं समाचर । तच्छ्रुत्वा सुहृदस्तस्य रामस्य प्रियकारिणः ॥ २-३-४६
Hence conduct yourself with your mind under control. Having heard this, Rama's friends with the intention of causing pleasure - ॥ 2-3-46॥
english translation
tasmAttvamapi cAtmAnaM niyamyaivaM samAcara । tacchrutvA suhRdastasya rAmasya priyakAriNaH ॥ 2-3-46
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत्वरिताः शीघ्रमभ्येत्य कौसल्यायै न्यवेदयन् । सा हिरण्यं च गाश्चैव रत्नानि विविधानि च । व्यादिदेश प्रियाख्येभ्यः कौसल्या प्रमदोत्तमा ॥ २-३-४७
- quickly approached and reported the matter to Kaushalya. The foremost of women, Kaushalya ordered gifts of gold, cows and various kinds of gems to be given to the messengers who brought this good tiding. ॥ 2-3-47॥
english translation
tvaritAH zIghramabhyetya kausalyAyai nyavedayan । sA hiraNyaM ca gAzcaiva ratnAni vividhAni ca । vyAdideza priyAkhyebhyaH kausalyA pramadottamA ॥ 2-3-47
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथाभिवाद्य राजानं रथमारुह्य राघवः । ययौ स्वं द्युतिमद्वेश्म जनौघैः प्रतिपूजितः ॥ २-३-४८
Having paid his obeisance to the king, Rama ascended the chariot amidst the acclaim of multitudes of men and left for his splendid abode. ॥ 2-3-48॥
english translation
athAbhivAdya rAjAnaM rathamAruhya rAghavaH । yayau svaM dyutimadvezma janaughaiH pratipUjitaH ॥ 2-3-48
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते चापि पौरा नृपतेर्वचस्त । च्छ्रुत्वा तदा लाभमिवेष्टमाशु । नरेन्द्रमामन्त्र्य गृहाणि गत्वा । देवान् समानर्चुरतिप्रहृष्टाः ॥ २-३-४९
On hearing such pronouncement by the king, the citizens also felt they have got something beneficial for themselves. They took leave of the king (Dasharatha) and hastening home, full of joy, began worshipping their gods. ॥ 2-3-49॥
