ददर्श तं राजपथं दिवि देवपतिर्यथा । दध्यक्षतहविर्लाजैर्धूपैरगुरुचंदनैः ॥ २-१७-६

Rama beheld the highway resembling the pathway of gods in heaven. Here, with curd, grains of rice, sacrificial libations, laja or puffed rice - ॥ 2-17-6॥

नानामाल्योपगंधैश्च सदाभ्यर्चितचत्वरम् । आशीर्वादान् बहून् शृण्वन् सुहृद्भिः समुदीरितान् ॥ २-१७-७

- fragrant substances like sandal wood, agaru and garlands of every kind, the crossroads were always worshipped. Hearing many words of blessings uttered by his friends . - ॥ 2-17-7॥

nAnAmAlyopagaMdhaizca sadAbhyarcitacatvaram । AzIrvAdAn bahUn zRNvan suhRdbhiH samudIritAn ॥ 2-17-7

यथार्हं चापि सम्पूज्य सर्वानेव नारान् ययौं । पितामहैराचरितं तथैव प्रपितामहैः ॥ २-१७-८

- and honouring each person according to his rank, he passed on. Followed by your grandfathers and great grandfathers .- ॥ 2-17-8॥

yathArhaM cApi sampUjya sarvAneva nArAn yayauM । pitAmahairAcaritaM tathaiva prapitAmahaiH ॥ 2-17-8

अध्योपादाय तं मार्गमभिषित्तोऽनुपालय । यथा स्म पोषिताः पित्रा यथा पूर्वैः पितामहैः ॥२-१७-९

- consecrated today, rule the kingdom by adopting the same path (They said). As we were ruled by his father and grandfather - ॥ 2-17-9॥

ततः सुखतरं सर्वे रामे वत्स्याम राजनि । अलमद्य हि भुक्तेन परमार्थैरलं च नः ॥ २-१७-१०

- once Rama assumes kingship, we shall all live in happiness greater than that. There will be no need for food and no greater object of life to be accomplished - ॥ 2-17-10॥
