तद्धनुः प्राप्य मे पित्रा व्याहृतं सत्यवादिना । समवाये नरेन्द्राणां पूर्वमामन्त्र्य पार्थिवान् ॥ २-११८-४१
My truthful father, after having acquired the bow, invited all the princes and placed the great bow before them in the assembly where he declared ॥ 2-118-41॥
english translation
taddhanuH prApya me pitrA vyAhRtaM satyavAdinA । samavAye narendrANAM pUrvamAmantrya pArthivAn ॥ 2-118-41
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइदं च धनुरुद्यम्य सज्यं यः कुरुते नरः । तस्य मे दुहिता भार्या भविष्यति न संशयः ॥ २-११८-४२
- 'Whoever is able to lift up and string this bow, I will bestow my daughter in marriage on him. There is no doubt about it.' ॥ 2-118-42॥
english translation
idaM ca dhanurudyamya sajyaM yaH kurute naraH । tasya me duhitA bhAryA bhaviSyati na saMzayaH ॥ 2-118-42
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतच्च दृष्ट्वा धनुश्श्रेष्ठं गौरवाद्गिरिसन्निभम् । अभिवाद्य नृपा जग्मुरशक्तास्तस्य तोलने ॥ २-११८-४३
Beholding the mighty bow resembling a mountain in weight, the kings, unable to lift it, paid their homage and left. ॥ 2-118-43॥

tacca dRSTvA dhanuzzreSThaM gauravAdgirisannibham । abhivAdya nRpA jagmurazaktAstasya tolane ॥ 2-118-43
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसुदीर्घस्य तु कालस्य राघवोऽयं महाद्युतिः । विश्वामित्रेण सहितो यज्ञं द्रष्टुं समागतः ॥ २-११८-४४
After a long time, resplendent Raaghava ( Rama ) arrived in order to witness the sacrifice along with sage Vishvaamitra. ॥ 2-118-44॥

sudIrghasya tu kAlasya rAghavo'yaM mahAdyutiH । vizvAmitreNa sahito yajJaM draSTuM samAgataH ॥ 2-118-44
hk transliteration by Sanscriptलक्ष्मणेन सह भ्रात्रा रामः सत्य पराक्रमः । विश्वामित्रः तु धर्मात्मा मम पित्रा सुपूजितः ॥ २-११८-४५
Having accepted the honour along with Rama whose prowess was truth and his brother Lakshman, extended by my father, righteous Vishvaamitra . - ॥ 2-118-45॥
