रक्षितुं सुमहद्राज्यमहमेकस्तु नोत्सहे । पौरजानपदांश्चापि रक्तान्रञ्जयितुं तथा ॥ २-११२-११
I do not venture to protect this kingdom all by myself and keep the inhabitants of the towns and villages who are loyal to you pleased. ॥ 2-112-11॥

rakSituM sumahadrAjyamahamekastu notsahe । paurajAnapadAMzcApi raktAnraJjayituM tathA ॥ 2-112-11
hk transliteration by Sanscriptज्ञातयश्च हि योधाश्च मित्राणि सुहृदश्च नः । त्वामेव प्रतिवीक्षन्ते पर्जन्यमिव कर्षकाः ॥ २-११२-१२
All our relatives, warriors, friends and wellwishers long to see you like farmers yearn for the raincloud. ॥ 2-112-12॥

jJAtayazca hi yodhAzca mitrANi suhRdazca naH । tvAmeva prativIkSante parjanyamiva karSakAH ॥ 2-112-12
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइदं राज्यं महाप्राज्ञ स्थापय प्रतिपद्य हि । शक्तिमानसि काकुत्स्थ लोकस्य परिपालने ॥ २-११२-१३
Oh ! sagacious Rama, accept this kingdom and ensure its stability. You are powerful enough to govern this world. So accept this kingdom and restore its stability.' ॥ 2-112-13॥

idaM rAjyaM mahAprAjJa sthApaya pratipadya hi । zaktimAnasi kAkutstha lokasya paripAlane ॥ 2-112-13
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्युक्त्वा न्यपतद्भ्रातुः पादयोर्भरतस्तदा । भृशं सम्प्रार्थयामास राममेव प्रियंवदः ॥ २-११२-१४
Having said this, Bharata, fell at the feet of his brother, and speaking sweetly, he profusely entreated Rama. ॥ 2-112-14॥

ityuktvA nyapatadbhrAtuH pAdayorbharatastadA । bhRzaM samprArthayAmAsa rAmameva priyaMvadaH ॥ 2-112-14
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतमङ्के भरतं कृत्वा रामो वचनमब्रवीत् । श्यामं नलिनपत्राक्षं मत्तहंसस्वरं स्वयम् ॥ २-११२-१५
Rama took Bharata in his arms, who had a dark blue complexion, whose eyes were like petals of lotus and whose voice was the voice of an amorous swan, spoke the following words to him ॥ 2-112-15॥

tamaGke bharataM kRtvA rAmo vacanamabravIt । zyAmaM nalinapatrAkSaM mattahaMsasvaraM svayam ॥ 2-112-15
