सर्वे क्षयान्ताः निचयाः पतनान्ता समुच्छ्रयाः । संयोगा विप्रयोगान्ता मरणान्तं च जीवितम् ॥ २-१०५-१६
All accumulations of wealth deplete at the end. Every man who attains elevated positions falls at the end. Every union culminates in separation. Every life ends in death. ॥ 2-105-16॥
english translation
sarve kSayAntAH nicayAH patanAntA samucchrayAH । saMyogA viprayogAntA maraNAntaM ca jIvitam ॥ 2-105-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयथा फलानां पक्वानां नान्यत्र पतनाद्भयम् । एवं नरस्य जातस्य नान्यत्र मरणाद्भयम् ॥ २-१०५-१७
The only fear of a ripened fruit is the fear of falling down (from the tree). In the same way every man who is born has no other fear except the fear of death. ॥ 2-105-17॥
english translation
yathA phalAnAM pakvAnAM nAnyatra patanAdbhayam । evaM narasya jAtasya nAnyatra maraNAdbhayam ॥ 2-105-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयथाऽगारं दृढस्थूणं जीर्णं भूत्वाऽवसीदति । तथैव सीदन्ति नरा जरामृत्युवशं गताः ॥ २-१०५-१८
Even a house constructed with sturdy pillars gets dilapidated and ultimately decays. In the same way people under the sway of old age and death are destroyed (at last). ॥ 2-105-18॥

yathA'gAraM dRDhasthUNaM jIrNaM bhUtvA'vasIdati । tathaiva sIdanti narA jarAmRtyuvazaM gatAH ॥ 2-105-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअत्येति रजनी या तु सा न प्रतिनिवर्तते । यात्येव यमुना पूर्णा समुद्रमुदकाकुलम् ॥ २-१०५-१९
A night that once passe off does not return like the waters of river Yamuna that flow into the ocean filled with water (the water do not flow back into Yamuna). ॥ 2-105-19॥
english translation
atyeti rajanI yA tu sA na pratinivartate । yAtyeva yamunA pUrNA samudramudakAkulam ॥ 2-105-19
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअहोरात्राणि गच्छन्ति सर्वेषां प्राणिनामिह । आयूंषि क्षपयन्त्याशु ग्रीष्मे जलमिवांशवः ॥ २-१०५-२०
The passing days and nights quickly decrease the life span of all living beings in this world, like sunrays drying up the water in summer. ॥ 2-105-20॥

ahorAtrANi gacchanti sarveSAM prANinAmiha । AyUMSi kSapayantyAzu grISme jalamivAMzavaH ॥ 2-105-20
