तत स्तेनैव मार्गेण प्रत्युत्तीर्य सरित्तटात् । आरुरोह नरव्याघ्रो रम्यसानुं महीधरम् ॥ २-१०२-३१

Rama, the tiger among men, ascending the riverbank and proceeding on the same path (he had come), climbed the (Chitrakuta) mountain of charming slopes. [2-102-31]

english translation

ततः पर्णकुटीद्वारमासाद्य जगतीपतिः । परिजग्राह बाहुभ्यामुभौ भरतलक्ष्मणौ ॥ २-१०२-३२

Rama, lord of the earth, reached the door of the leafhut and took Bharata and Lakshmana in his arms. [2-102-32]

english translation

तेषां तु रुदतां शब्दात् प्रतिशब्दोऽभवद् गिरौ । भ्रातॄणां सह वैदेह्या सिंहानां नर्दतामिव ॥ २-१०२-३३

The mountain echoed with the sound of lamentations of all the brothers along with Sita which resembled the roar of lions. [2-102-33]

english translation

महाबलानां रुदतां कुर्वतामुदकं पितुः । विज्ञाय तुमुलं शब्दं त्रस्ता भरत सैनिकाः ॥ २-१०२-३४

The soldiers of Bharata were alarmed on hearing the tumultuous sounds raised by those mighty brothers offering libations of water and lamenting. [2-102-34]

english translation

अब्रुवंश्चापि रामेण भरत संगतो ध्रुवम् । तेषामेव महान् श‌ब्द: शोचतां पितरं मृतम् ॥ २-१०२-३५

They said, 'Bharata must have joined Rama. That loud noise must be their wailing over their deceased father'. [2-102-35]
