कृतबुद्धिं निवासाय तत्रैव स मुनिस्तदा । भरतं कैकयीपुत्रमातिथ्येनन्यमन्त्रयत् ॥ २-९१-१
With the decision of Bharata, son of Kaikeyi, to stay there for the night, sage Bharadwaja extended to him all hospitality. [2-91-1]
english translation
अब्रवीद्भरतस्त्वेनं नन्विदं भवता कृतम् । पाद्यमर्घ्यं तथाऽतिथ्यं वने यदुपपद्यते ॥ २-९१-२
Bharata said to Bharadwaja, 'You have already extended the hospitality in offering water for washing the feet with and of arghya befitting a guest as available in the forest.' [2-91-2]
english translation
अथोवाच भरद्वाजो भरतं प्रहसन्निव । जाने त्वां प्रीतिसंयुक्तं तुष्येस्त्वं येन केनचित् ॥ २-९१-३
Bharadwaja then said to Bharata with a gentle smile, 'I know you are full of love and content with whatever is offered you. [2-91-3]
english translation
सेनायास्तु तवैतस्याः कर्तुमिच्छामि भोजनम् । मम प्रीतिर्यथारूपा तथार्हो मनुजर्षभ ॥ २-९१-४
Oh ! Bharata, the best of men, I want to treat your army with food. This will please me and I hope you will act accordingly. [2-91-4]
english translation
किमर्थं चापि निक्षिप्य दूरे बलमिहागतः । कस्मान्नेहोपयातोऽसि सबलः पुरुषर्षभः ॥ २-९१-५
Why did you, Oh ! Bharata, the best of men, station your army at a distance before coming here? Could you not approach me along with your army?' [2-91-5]
