गुहस्य वचनं श्रुत्वा तत्तु स्नेहादुदीरितम् | रामस्यानुवशो वाक्यं भरतोऽपीदमब्रवीत् || २-८९-६

On hearing Guha's affectionate words Bharata, ever obedient to Rama, replied : - [2-89-6]

english translation

guhasya vacanaM zrutvA tattu snehAdudIritam | rAmasyAnuvazo vAkyaM bharato'pIdamabravIt || 2-89-6

hk transliteration

सुखानः शर्वरी राजन् पूजिताश्चापि ते वयम् | गङ्गां तु नौभिर्बह्वीभिर्दाशाः सन्तारयन्तु नः || २-८९-७

sanskrit

- 'Oh ! king (Guha) the night passed comfortably for us. We have been honoured by you in many ways. Let your fishermen be ordered to ferry us across the Ganga in their boats.' [2-89-7]

english translation

sukhAnaH zarvarI rAjan pUjitAzcApi te vayam | gaGgAM tu naubhirbahvIbhirdAzAH santArayantu naH || 2-89-7

hk transliteration

ततो गुहः सन्त्वरितं श्रुत्वा भरतशासनम् | प्रति प्रविश्य नगरं तं ज्ञातिजनमब्रवीत् || २-८९-८

Then at Bharata's command Guha returned to his habitation quickly and said to his relations : - [2-89-8]

english translation

tato guhaH santvaritaM zrutvA bharatazAsanam | prati pravizya nagaraM taM jJAtijanamabravIt || 2-89-8

hk transliteration

उत्तिष्ठत प्रबुध्यध्वं भद्रमस्तु च वः सदा | नावः समनुकर्षध्वं तारयिष्याम वाहिनीम् || २-८९-९

sanskrit

- 'Arise and awake. May you be ever blessed. Haul down the boats into the river. We have to ferry the army (across the river).' [2-89-9]

english translation

uttiSThata prabudhyadhvaM bhadramastu ca vaH sadA | nAvaH samanukarSadhvaM tArayiSyAma vAhinIm || 2-89-9

hk transliteration

ते तथोक्ताः समुत्थाय त्वरिता राजशासनात् | पञ्चनावां शतान्याशु समानिन्युः समन्ततः || २-८९-१०

sanskrit

On hearing these words, they arose in haste and immediately brought five hundred boats from every direction in accordance with the command of their king (Guha). [2-89-10]

english translation

te tathoktAH samutthAya tvaritA rAjazAsanAt | paJcanAvAM zatAnyAzu samAninyuH samantataH || 2-89-10
