कैकेयी च सुमित्रा च कौसल्या च यशस्विनी । रामानयनसंहृष्टा ययुर्यानेन भास्वता ॥ २-८३-६

Kaikeyi, Sumitra as well as the illustrious Kausalya travelled by a resplendent chariot, delighted with the thought of bringing Rama back. [2-83-6]

english translation

प्रयाताश्चार्यसङ्घाता रामं द्रष्टुं सलक्ष्मणम् । तस्यैव च कथाश्चित्राः कुर्वाणा हृष्टमानसाः ॥ २-८३-७

Venerable people in groups, narrating various accomplishments of Rama and eager to see him with Lakshmana, proceeded in a delightful mood. [2-83-7]

english translation

मेघश्यामं महाबाहुं स्थिरसत्त्वं दृढव्रतम्। कदा द्रक्ष्यामहे रामं जगतः शोकनाशनम् ॥ २-८३-८

When shall we see that mightyarmed Rama of darkblue complexion like the raincloud, firm in strength and steadfast in vows and the destroyer of the sorrows of this world? [2-83-8]

english translation

दृष्ट एव हि नः शोकमपनेष्यति राघवः। तमः सर्वस्य लोकस्य समुद्यन्निव भास्करः ॥ २-८३-९

At his sight alone our sorrows will be dispelled, the way the darkness of the entire world is dispelled by the rising Sun. [2-83-9]

english translation

इत्येवं कथयन्तस्ते सम्प्रहृष्टाः कथाः शुभाः। परिष्वजानाश्चान्योन्यं ययुर्नागरिका जनाः ॥ २-८३-१०

The inhabitants of the town proceeded joyfully, narrating Rama's delightful achievements on their way by embracing one another. [2-83-10]
