तीव्रमुत्पादितं दुःखं भ्रात्रूणां मे तथा पितुः । यया सेयं नृशंसस्य कर्मणः फलमश्नुताम् ॥ २-७८-११
- 'Let this woman, who caused deep sorrow to our brothers and father, reap the fruit of her malicious actions.' ॥ 2-78-11॥
english translation
tIvramutpAditaM duHkhaM bhrAtrUNAM me tathA pituH । yayA seyaM nRzaMsasya karmaNaH phalamaznutAm ॥ 2-78-11
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवमुक्त्वा तु तेनाशु सखीजनसमावृता । गृहीता बलवत्कुब्जा सा तद्गृहमनादयत् ॥ २-७८-१२
Saying thus, he forcibly caught hold of the hunchback amidst her companions when she filled the house with her cries. ॥ 2-78-12॥

evamuktvA tu tenAzu sakhIjanasamAvRtA । gRhItA balavatkubjA sA tadgRhamanAdayat ॥ 2-78-12
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः सुभृश सम्तप्तः तस्याः सर्वः सखी जनः । क्रुद्धमाज्ञाय शत्रुघ्नं विपलायत सर्वशः ॥ २-७८-१३
Perceiving the enraged Satrughna all her companions shook in terror and fled in different directions. ॥ 2-78-13॥

tataH subhRza samtaptaH tasyAH sarvaH sakhI janaH । kruddhamAjJAya zatrughnaM vipalAyata sarvazaH ॥ 2-78-13
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआमन्त्रयत कृत्स्नः च तस्याः सर्व सखी जनः । यथाऽयं समुपक्रान्तो निश्शेषां नः करिष्यति ॥ २-७८-१४
All her companions conversed among themselves : 'The way he began, it looks he will finish all of us. ॥ 2-78-14॥

Amantrayata kRtsnaH ca tasyAH sarva sakhI janaH । yathA'yaM samupakrAnto nizzeSAM naH kariSyati ॥ 2-78-14
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसानुक्रोशां वदान्यां च धर्मज्ञां च यशस्विनीम् । कौसल्यां शरणं याम सा हि नोऽस्तु ध्रुवा गतिः ॥ २-७८-१५
Let us seek refuge under the illustrious Kausalya, who is compassionate, generous, and knower of righteousness. She is our sure saviour.' ॥ 2-78-15॥

sAnukrozAM vadAnyAM ca dharmajJAM ca yazasvinIm । kausalyAM zaraNaM yAma sA hi no'stu dhruvA gatiH ॥ 2-78-15
